This is a small group tour that travels off the beaten track and a long the narrow country roads of south Kerry

Our small luxury vehicle allow us to move away from the hustle and bustle of the  loud tourist routes , where we can enjoy small nature walks and take our time to experience the destinations surroundings.

Isolated from the rest of Ireland by the impressive landscape, the Ring of Kerry hiking Tour will take you where the locals go. Follow a coastal trail on windswept cliffs, perched above beautiful coastlines. This amazing guided tour takes you along the spectacular Wild Atlantic Way as you experience the most dramatic scenery that Ireland has to offer.

Early Morning

Our first stop of the day is at the beautiful Dingle Bay Viewing point. Here we will have a brief photo stop overlooking the Wild Atlantic way.

Next up we’ll make our way to the small town of Cahrciveen. Here we’ll make a brief stop at a local supermarket to buy some snacks to enjoy on our hike.

 

Late Morning

After a toilet break and some extra time to grab some snacks in a local shop, it is then on to the Valentia Island. On the island we will make our way to start of the trail head.

The views from here are simply breath taking. On a clear day, you will see the very famous Skellig islands , a UNESSCO World Heritage site since 1995. It was an island were monks settled in the 6th century after they fled Europe during the dark ages.

 

Early Afternoon

Bray Head Loop Walk

Description of Trail

This loop gives wonderful views over Valentia island, Portmagee, the Skellig islands and the Dingle Peninsula to the north across the water. We will follow the stoney road to the top of the peninsula and from there you will be able to scramble down the narrow paths to the edge of Europe.

 

Late Afternoon

After the walk we will make our way back onto the Ring of Kerry tourist road. We’ll stop buy Derrynane historical park, the fairy forest and Derrynane Strand. From there we will travel back to Killarney, through the national park, taking in the views of Ladies view and Torc Waterfall

Please note: We only travel to Derrynane Historical Park & Fairy Forest when the weather is bad. If there is poor visibility on Bray Head, we go to Derrynane because it’s more sheltered and below any mist coming from the Atlantic.
