Tour Guides

Our guides connect travelers with the experiences we offer. They tell the stories of our country in a profound yet straightforward manner. Irish Experience guides are supported by an ambitious in-house operations team that works behind the scenes to make sure every tour turns out flawless.

Our local guides are a team of creators, connectors, and storytellers on a constant journey to discover the stories that our country has to tell you. In developing our experiences, we strive to make them amazing for travelers and locals alike, giving back to the communities visited.

How We Do It

Our business revolves around people: travelers, locals and the team that brings them together. This is how we offer inspiring and memorable experiences:

Tour Creators

Our team of creators works closely with local communities, activity providers, and experiences to help them tell their stories to travelers. This way, tourism can be a powerful ally for those communities and locally run businesses to grow and support the lives of their people and families for the better.

Why we do this

We believe that travel has the power to transform lives. Our experiences facilitate meaningful interactions between travellers, locals and nature. Travellers become inspired, locals empowered which in turn helps communities and local businesses thrive.

Our Wee Story

In 2010 after a few years circling the island of Ireland and a few lessons learnt along the way, Sean decided it was time to introduce this innovative style of travel to the whole island of Ireland where the real adventure was waiting to begin.
Irish Experience Tours was and still remains, all about taking travellers to more remote destinations, places of breath -taking scenery, meeting inspiring people and experiencing great hospitality. All mixed together with stories of Legendary history and culture.
When you share these unique adventures with a great group of people from all over the world… well, that is when the real spirit of Irish Experience comes in to play!

The average drive time on the bus is 2 to 3 hours, with the exception of the first and last day. Our drivers know every nook and cranny on this island so expect a few unscheduled stops that  takes you out of the bus and to where the locals go. This will allow you some free ‘me’ time, that’s both tranquil and magical.

All itineraries have key cultural stops included and many optional activities to do at your own pace, that will ensure you’re not stuck in a buss all day just looking at scenery , but part of it!!!

small group hiking the causeway coast with Irish Experience Tours

We want to get you further off the beaten track in Ireland, immersing you in the places and activities that will, quite simply, blow you away. To name a few…  gentle hike from Doolin to The Cliffs of Moher, staying in small coastal fishing villages along the Wild Atlantic Way, eating  fresh Atlantic seafood in quaint little towns, seeing local craftsmen at work, biking around old Gaelic islands and kayaking with dolphins.

Stand up paddle boarding on Dingle harbour and Fungie the Dolphin

Our guides have been travelling the length and breath of Ireland for many years; as well as being your local “guidebook” they provide commentary, book activities and meals, and provide information on anything from Irish history and culture… to the best watering hole. Like you, we all have an adventurous streak and our travellers always love our enthusiasm for our country!

sunset view and small country road on self drive tour of Ireland

Some bus companies will take you straight from A to B with barely a toilet break in between! We are Irish Experience and want to take you away from all the hustle and bustle. That means with us you will experience great stops and inclusions en route. A typical travel day can see you stopping off for a short walk to a waterfall, numerous beautiful photo opportunities, pausing at Castles and early Christian relics close to the roadside, an opportunity to taste local wine/craft beer or seafood, stumbling across local festivals and events or even checking out some colourful sheep and other wildlife!

You don’t have to buy costly side trips as we already include the out-of-the-way, “must-see” places, e.g. Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands and Killarney National Park. We can also get you great deals on optional activities so you can afford to do more, and there are always free or low cost suggestions for you to do.   Lastly, we save you time  by our extensive knowledge of where and what the best things to see and do in Ireland are.

Our average group size is 12. The are many benefits to having this size: you don’t feel like you’re being herded around, we are able to include more accommodation and activity options, it’s easier to meet people… wander more off the beaten track and enjoy more connecting with nature! Happy customers = happy us.

We attract independent people of a huge range of nationalities and ages – people who want to get involved in the place they are travelling rather than just looking out the bus window. They are independent ‘active sightseers’ looking to visit new places, and expand their experience by exploring landscapes, history , culture and making new friends.

Support the locals! Founded in 2010, we are Irish and proud of it. We know our country and we’re proud to show it off!

a small group hiking the roads of Aran islands

On our relaxed culturally focused Experience Tours we like to bring our travelers on gentle strolls along old country roads, that suit all levels of fitness. On our more active & up beat Adventure Tours we love to take our travellers on short hikes in areas such as the Wild Atlantic Way , or Irelands Ancient East.

This  means that there is something for everyone and will ultimately bring you closer to nature and to experience the wilderness of Ireland.  Because of this choice, you don’t have to be a fitness fanatic to take part in any of our hikes or walks.  They are all comfortable walks , in areas of outstanding natural beauty. This is our way in showing you, what this great island has to offer.  All walks are optional and there is something for everyone.

We have extremely high customer satisfaction and referrals because we offer travellers more of what they want – down-to-earth, real Ireland with an awesome crew and a greater emphasis on your needs. SEE HERE

My review is about the team and company when working through booking issues, not a specific trip. They were respectful and communicative. Always important when working with a tour company!

5 star rating This is the way to see Ireland! My pal and I were blown away by the quality and sheer fun of our tour with Irish Experience. I know Ireland well, and it was my friend’s first time visiting, and we both found each day to be exactly what we wanted. Our guide, Aidan, is unbelievably good at mixing stories from Irish history, current events, and cool connections that kept us asking questions, laughing, and learning all day. Even though the weather wobbled between foggy/cloudy/drizzly/clear most of the tour, we were able to do an incredible range of things. It was a BLAST. We spent most of the time climbing around sites and walking — and Aidan was completely flexible about including everything we asked to see, whether it was on the day’s agenda or not. We stopped for coffee, lunch, and toilets when we wanted to. His professionalism, humour, patience, and knowledge made him exactly who we needed. Booking the trip was seamless. It was worth every penny. This is the trip you want!

5 star rating Highlight of our trip to Ireland! My mom and I loved everything about this tour! Sean showed us a perfect mix of both popular and off the beaten path attractions. He had great suggestions for hikes and other activities and gave us many opportunities for photo stops. All of our accommodations were comfortable and had great breakfasts. Highly recommend!

5 star rating Great trip! I did the Southwest tour through Ireland and I really enjoyed it. We traveled with a nice small group, only 9 people, and the great guide Aidan. Aidan is easy going, very friendly and knows a lot about his country. If I were his employer I would give him a raise. I recommend the sunset kayaking tour. Due to good weather conditions we could go all the way to the end, into the caves and we saw Fungi the dolphin. Awesome! I also enjoyed Killarney and the entire west coast, including the Ring of Kerry, the Cliffs of Moher, the island of Inisheer (Inis Oirr) and Galway. I was the only one in the group who had the hostel option where I also met many other people. It was a journey to remember. One comment: check the itinerary. The whole group thought there was only 1 night in Killarney, but we stayed 2 nights at the same location. No probleem, but it would have been nice to know in advance, since we were now ready with packed bags, while that was not necessary.

5 star rating Highlight of our trip, Thank you Rory! We did the private 1 day Dingle peninsula tour (from Killarney) with Rory. I recommend this to any group or family. If you want something more than sitting in a bus all day, this is for you. Rory took us off the beaten path for an adventurous day. There was no pressure, no rush. He was full of wonderful commentary and conversation. He got a good feel for our family and made suggestions, and he was open to requests too. This is a private tour and he was very flexible. We loved the town of dingle so much, we spent time there twice, once for a little shopping, the other for a late lunch/early dinner meal. The Slea Head hike was breathtaking, and the beach was astounding (bring towels and baby powder to get the fine sand off your feet). Rory actually took us to 2 beaches that day (we had unbelievable weather). Countless little hikes, vistas, waterfalls, bouldering. Our family ranged from ages 9 to 54. Do this tour, and ask for Rory.

5 star rating Wow...What a Terrific Tour! What a terrific tour we had. We were fortunate to get Sean for this tour and he did a wonderful job throughout our trip. Sean met us as we got off the ship with a perfect sized tour bus (we all had our own seats!). He drove us everywhere we had planned on going and even added a few "bonus stops"! The highlight, of course, was the Cliffs of Moher which proved to be so much more spectacular "in person". Throughout the trip, Sean kept us entertained with what we were seeing and his incredible sense of humor. Everyone in our 14 person party mentioned that they had a terrific time on this tour!

5 star rating Spectacular Country -- Spectacular Guides! We were picked up in Dublin by Sean Power and four days later when we arrived in Killarney we'd had the best possible introduction to this magnificent country by a man who, like all great Irish, loves his country with a passion --- a passion he is driven to share.

While wanting to show us Ireland, he was wonderful in digging deep to find out what it was we'd like to do, what our priorities were. He quickly picked up that we might like a castle, but stopping on a rural road to walk, say hello to a herd of cows, feed a carrot to a horse, check a hardware store, meet people, --- including a visit to a rural funeral director's office and small pubs and restaurants, --- a lingering breakfast to visit with table mates, stopping at a rural boat launch to talk to a local farmer about workers from other EU countries, beat castles hands down and he sourced these, and many other wonderful experiences. He took us places we'd never have found on our own, and every day we covered four, five, six times what we'd have been able to on our own. Best of all we are pleased and proud to call Sean 'friend' as, I'm sure, countless others who have traveled Ireland with him before us.

In Killarney my bird watching wife wanted to have a taste of the Wild Atlantic Way and the wildlife so Sean turned us over to Anthony who not only excels as a tour guide --- he's also a wildlife expert seeming to know every bird and flower along the coast. Again magical days with a man we are also now proud and pleased to call friend.

Along with individual bespoke touring Irish Experience Tours has tours for groups which I'm sure are also, as much as possible, tailored to group needs and wishes.

When we return to Ireland, our first call will be to Sean Power to see when we might be toured by him and/or his team. That will dictate when we book air, not the other way round.

Thank you Irish Experience Tours. You made Ireland, and the Irish people, come alive for us and so welcome we felt we'd truly come home although it's been 200 years since our ancestors departed for Canada.

4 star rating Good Tour Guide and Scenery Lovely scenery on this tour and Aiden was a great guide, joking and offering generous commentary about Irish culture and snippets and opportunities for photo stops, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We booked with this agency because of the small bus tour group and the promise of a hike. Despite the cloudy weather, the 1.5h hike did not disappoint and was a highlight for us - spectacular views and we much prefer this than additional short photo stops. He offered helpful assistance with our drop-off in a town en route to Cork, which we appreciated.

5 star rating Dingle tour I have an amazing time going into the Dingle tour with the Irish Experience! What I love the most about their tours is that you don't only go to the main attraction of the place, but also to few other places in the way, which makes the trip zero tedious. We went to a local beach near Dingle, we stopped to take pictures of the astonishing views of the lakes in Kerry and we took a walk in Dunmore Hear, which is a Stars Wars location with an absolutely beautiful view of the sea.
I went by myself which wasn't a problem at all because the guys make you feel at home. The driver was very nice and told us the the story of the places we went.
I would definetely travel with them again!

Not only were the Cliffs of Moher absolutely stunning and the weather marvellous, but the whole experience was amazing. From the pickup, the bathroom breaks at exactly the right time, snacking opportunities to the fascinating stops at Bunratty Castle and the beautiful Lahinch beach. The Atlantic Edge Walk was adrenaline-filled and exhilarating with new rugged view around every bend of the path. Simply breathtaking (quite literally thanks to the wind).

5 star rating Surprisingly Sunny Day at the Cliffs of Moher On the way to the cliffs, we stopped by Bunratty Castle and Blarney Woolen Mills as well as the surfing town of Lahinch for bathroom/snack breaks. Both were great places to stop for photo opportunities or to find a postcard. The tour guides are also great at keeping things interesting during the ride with interesting stories about Ireland. Sights were absolutely beautiful and I would definitely recommend a tour with them. Only warning is that the Atlantic Edge Walk is very muddy and can be slippery. Just be prepared to possibly slip and get a little muddy, but definitely worth it!

The pure, raw beauty of nature that I witnessed there is something you can't capture in words or pictures. It was affordable, and it took us to some out of the way spots we wouldn’t have thought to go to otherwise. The tour guides were really funny and made the bus ride fun. It was also better because they didn’t make you stay in a group the whole time and you were able to do the walk at your own pace. Lovely little village stop for breakfast with a gorgeous castle, and then another beautiful stop in a surfing town right before arriving at the Cliffs of Moher. The relaxed nature of the tour allowed for everyone to go at their own pace, and this was nice to be able to stop and take pictures at our leisure. Plenty of time was allocated for the walk and to grab a quick bite before leaving. Tour guides were funny and entertaining, and made the rides there and back more enjoyable.

5 star rating The Irish Experience! I went with the Irish Experience Tours on their Galway, Cliffs of Moher and Aran Islands tour. I had the best time of my life! The tourguide was really nice and was thinking ahead. He would change the order in which we were planned to go to the different places so we would be able to visit everything with the best possible conditions. They take you to all the best places in the neighbourhood and there is enough free time to do whatever you want to! They take you on walks through beautiful nature, which is nice because you have to sit on a bus a lot. It is good to stretch your legs for a minute!
I can definitely recommend going on this trip, especially outside of the tourist season, because it is really quite everywhere and it feels as if you are alone in the world. The groups in which the tours are given are also really small, around 20 people, which is really nice. You don't feel like cattle.
The only downside of this trip was that it was raining a lot, but that is out of the hands of the tourguides. And it only added to the true Irish Experience!
I had an amazing time and would like to thank Irish Experience tours for making that happen.

5 star rating Aran Islands - stunning I travelled twice with Irish Experience Tours. I enjoyed the Northern Ireland Tour (Belfast, Derry, spots of Game of Thrones, Giants Causeway) and the West Coast Tour (Cliffs of Moher, Connemara, Galway & Aran Islands).
Both trips were amazing. I couldn't complain about the "Irish" weather. It was sunny most of the time.
My personal highlight were our trip to the Aran Islands by ferry, because of a bad weather forecast our driver decided to go to the biggest of the Aran Islands, Inis Mór. It was just beautiful. We drove by bikes around the island and had stunning views on the cliffs and landscape. Higly recommended to go there. In my opinion even better than Cliffs of Moher because you are more on your own and those cliffs of the islands were beautiful as well.

Custom trip Cork/Kilarney/Ring of Kerry/Dublin Sean & Siobhan accommodated us nearly last-minute because we had lots of family members from different areas of the States, and plans kept changing. They were so kind. Both drivers, Sean and Aidan, were fun but professional. They were on time, even with problems communicating with our overseas phone service. They were flexible, too, dropping a couple of our group at a train station, finding other excursions to attend when we couldn't visit Skellig Michael due to weather, were very patient and let us explore areas, and went out of their way to find our accommodations (air B&Bs) in Kilarney and Portmagee. We appreciated all the information and history they shared with us about the areas we visited as well as passed through. We were delighted with this company and would definitely use them again--cannot recommend highly enough! It was a reasonable price, too.
