Our local guides are a team of creators, connectors, and storytellers on a constant journey to discover the stories that our country has to tell you. In developing our experiences, we strive to make them amazing for travelers and locals alike, giving back to the communities visited.

How We Do It

Our business revolves around people: travelers, locals and the team that brings them together. This is how we offer inspiring and memorable experiences:

Tour Creators

Our team of creators works closely with local communities, activity providers, and experiences to help them tell their stories to travelers. This way, tourism can be a powerful ally for those communities and locally run businesses to grow and support the lives of their people and families for the better.

Tour Guides

Our guides connect travelers with the experiences we offer. They tell the stories of our country in a profound yet straightforward manner. Irish Experience guides are supported by an ambitious in-house operations team that works behind the scenes to make sure every tour turns out flawless.

Why we do this

We believe that travel has the power to transform lives. Our experiences facilitate meaningful interactions between travelers, locals and nature. Travelers become inspired, locals empowered which in turn helps communities and local businesses thrive.

Our Story

In 2008 after a few years circling the island of Ireland and a few lessons learnt along the way, Sean decided it was time to introduce this innovative style of travel to the whole island of Ireland where the real adventure was waiting to begin.
Irish Experience Tours was, and still remains, all about taking travellers further off the beaten track to jaw-dropping beautiful & remote destinations. When you share these unique adventures with a great group of people from all over the world… well, that is when the real spirit of Irish Experience comes in to play!
In the years since, we’ve grown by leaps and bounds, building our own fleet of vehicles, and expanding our small group fixed tours to cover all corners of the country.

10 Reasons Why You Should Travel With Us

The average drive time on the bus is 2 to 3 hours, with the exception of the first and last day. Our drivers know every nook and cranny on this island so expect a few unscheduled stops that  takes you out of the bus and to where the locals go. This will allow you some free ‘me’ time, that’s both tranquil and magical.

All itineraries have key cultural stops included and many optional activities to do at your own pace, that will ensure you’re not stuck in a buss all day just looking at scenery , but part of it!!!

We want to get you further off the beaten track in Ireland, immersing you in the places and activities that will, quite simply, blow you away. To name a few…  gentle hike from Doolin to The Cliffs of Moher, staying in small coastal fishing villages along the Wild Atlantic Way, eating  fresh Atlantic seafood in quaint little towns, seeing local craftsmen at work, biking around old Gaelic islands and kayaking with dolphins.

Our guides have been travelling the length and breath of Ireland for many years; as well as being your local “guidebook” they provide commentary, book activities and meals, and provide information on anything from Irish history and culture… to the best watering hole. Like you, we all have an adventurous streak and our travellers always love our enthusiasm for our country!

Some bus companies will take you straight from A to B with barely a toilet break in between! We are Irish Experience and want to take you away from all the hustle and bustle. That means with us you will experience great stops and inclusions en route. A typical travel day can see you stopping off for a short walk to a waterfall, numerous beautiful photo opportunities, pausing at Castles and early Christian relics close to the roadside, an opportunity to taste local wine/craft beer or seafood, stumbling across local festivals and events or even checking out some colourful sheep and other wildlife!

You don’t have to buy costly side trips as we already include the out-of-the-way, “must-see” places, e.g. Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands and Killarney National Park. We can also get you great deals on optional activities so you can afford to do more, and there are always free or low cost suggestions for you to do.   Lastly, we save you time  by our extensive knowledge of where and what the best things to see and do in Ireland are.

Our average group size is 12. The are many benefits to having this size: you don’t feel like you’re being herded around, we are able to include more accommodation and activity options, it’s easier to meet people… wander more off the beaten track and enjoy more connecting with nature! Happy customers = happy us.

We attract independent people of a huge range of nationalities and ages – people who want to get involved in the place they are travelling rather than just looking out the bus window. They are independent ‘active sightseers’ looking to visit new places, and expand their experience by exploring landscapes, history , culture and making new friends.

On our relaxed culturally focused Experience Tours we like to bring our travelers on gentle strolls along old country roads, that suit all levels of fitness. On our more active & up beat Adventure Tours we love to take our travellers on short hikes in areas such as the Wild Atlantic Way , or Irelands Ancient East.

This  means that there is something for everyone and will ultimately bring you closer to nature and to experience the wilderness of Ireland.  Because of this choice, you don’t have to be a fitness fanatic to take part in any of our hikes or walks.  They are all comfortable walks , in areas of outstanding natural beauty. This is our way in showing you, what this great island has to offer.  All walks are optional and there is something for everyone.

We have extremely high customer satisfaction and referrals because we offer travellers more of what they want – down-to-earth, real Ireland with an awesome crew and a greater emphasis on your needs. SEE HERE

When you think of “ESCORTED TOURS,” you might envision overcrowded buses unloading masses if people at buffet restaurants and tourist sites.  But small group trips are different. If you want to travel but don’t know where to start, small group tours are a great option for inexpensive vacations and meaningful travel experiences.

Usually limited to 12-16 travelers, escorted small group trips tend to be focused on authentic travel experiences. They have an experienced tour leader as well as local guides who are experts on the region.  The tour, including lodgings, overland transport, and other details are arranged for you and included in the price.  The smaller group size and local leaders allow you to get a more personal, genuine experience. One of our favourite aspects of small group tours is the opportunity to meet and learn from other travelers.

When deciding if escorted small group trips are really right for you, you should weigh the positive and negative factors of each.

Consider the following “pros” in favour of small group trips:

  • Most things will be arranged for you after your arrival at your destination. You can even request an airport pick-up for an additional charge.
  • If you’re a new traveler or have never travelled solo before, it’s a great way to travel with a “safety net.” Along the way, you’ll also learn from the others on your trip.
  • It’s not just solo travelers on small group trips – lots of couples, friends and families book these tours for their vacations.
  • If you’re short on time, you won’t have to do a ton of research and planning to be ready to go.
  • You can really focus on having an authentic travel experience. Spend your time learning about history and culture, trying local foods, and getting great photographs.
  • You won’t have to worry as much about tourist traps, scams, and safety. Your tour leader will brief you at the start of the trip. They’ll also brief you each day or activity with things to consider.
  • On many of our small group trips, you’ll meet other fellow travelers with similar interests. Many of our past customers are still Facebook and Instagram friends with many of them including tour leaders!
